Hungarian Administrative Solutions Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") is a Canadian company based in Alberta, Canada. We help people of Hungarian descent pursue Hungarian citizenship by descent.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website at hucitizenship.com (the "Site") and our eligibility check, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

2. What personal information we collect
We collect only the information you give us through our eligibility check and any messages you send us. The categories of personal information we collect are:

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete our eligibility check or when you email us. We do not buy personal information from data brokers, and we do not scrape it from other sources.
4. Why we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Assess your potential eligibility for Hungarian citizenship by descent
- Contact you with the results of that assessment
- Offer our consulting services to you if you appear eligible
- Respond to your questions and provide information you request
- Operate, maintain, and protect the Site from automated abuse
We do not use your information for any other purpose without your consent. If we want to use it for a new purpose, we will ask you first.
5. Legal basis for processing
In Canada, we process your personal information under PIPEDA on the basis of your consent, which you give when you complete the eligibility check.
In the United States, we process your personal information to provide the service you requested (the eligibility assessment) and to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising.
8. International & cross-border transfers
Our company is in Canada, but because we use Resend (a United States-based email provider) to deliver emails, your personal information may be processed and stored in the United States.
If you are in Canada, please note that personal information transferred to the United States may be accessible to US law enforcement or national security authorities under US law. By using our Site and completing the eligibility check, you consent to this transfer.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal information for 24 months after our last interaction with you, unless you become a client. If you become a client, we retain your information for the duration of our engagement and for as long as needed afterwards to provide our services.
After the retention period, we delete or de-identify your personal information unless we are legally required to keep it longer. You can also request earlier deletion at any time (see section 10).
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
11. How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of your rights, email us at [email protected]. Please include your name and the email address you used so we can find your information.
We will verify your identity, respond to your request within 30 days (Canada) or 45 days (United States), and provide the information or take the action you requested. We do not charge a fee for these requests.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in the United States, your state Attorney General or the relevant state privacy agency.
12. Children's privacy
Our Site and services are not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as on the homepage or by email, where practical).
Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
